Meet Alphabet Practice: Build a Letter Deck in Quobby
Start learning a new writing system with a ready-made deck. Choose a country and language, practise its letters, and hear a pronunciation right from the card.
Learning an unfamiliar alphabet can feel like a lot of symbols to keep straight. The latest Quobby update makes it easier to get started: create a deck from built-in letter cards, then use the same flashcard practice you already know.
Create an alphabet deck from a country and language
Open the alphabet deck option from Flashcards Home and choose a country. If more than one supported language is available for that country, choose the language you want to study. Quobby then creates a deck with starter cards for that language’s letters or writing system, so you can begin practising without adding every card by hand.
The cards are designed for recognition practice. When a script has uppercase and lowercase forms, the card can show both together. Flip it to see the letter’s pronunciation, then tap Pronounce to hear it spoken. The control speaks the letter once, even when both forms appear on the card.
Keep your alphabet decks organised
Alphabet decks appear with your flashcard decks on Flashcards Home. You can edit a deck or delete it when you no longer need it, just as you would manage your other decks. The country and language choices give the deck a clear starting point, while regular review helps you return to the letters you are learning.
On Android, new cards remember your style
We also updated individual card creation on Android. When you make another card, Quobby carries forward your recent font, colour scheme, and preset styling choices, so you spend less time setting up each card. Deck themes continue to be managed at the deck level.
